  • Persistent coughing
  • Chest pain
  • Hoarseness
  • Weight loss
  • Bloody or rust coloured sputum

In many cases a simply x-ray would establish the extent of the damaged cells and catch symptoms early. This would later be followed by taking a sample of the tissue by performing a simple biopsy to confirm whether or not it’s lung cancer.

Types of treatment available

There are different types of treatments available for lung cancer which can be successful. The options include general surgery to remove bad cells, chemotherapy, radiation and photodynamic therapy. Out of these the most experimental treatment is photodynamic therapy which uses light to kill cancerous cells.
